About this consultation

On 24 December 2021 the Office of Drug Control (ODC)introduced a single licence model for cultivation, production and/or manufacture activities along with simpler permit processes and administrative reforms to reduce regulatory burden.

Following these changes, the existing Medicinal Cannabis Program cost model has been reviewed, including the level at which fees and charges are set. The review determined that some regulatory effort was not included in the existing fees and charges for the Medicinal Cannabis Program. These costs have been reflected in the new fees and charges set out in a Consultation Paper.

The Consultation Paper summarises the findings of the fees and charges review, including the proposed changes, and seeks feedback from stakeholders.
