Industry information and consultation sessions: Domestic cultivation and manufacture of medicinal cannabis products

Published

The Office of Drug Control will be hosting a series of information and consultation sessions regarding the domestic cultivation and manufacture of medicinal cannabis products.

The information and consultation sessions aim to provide potential cultivators and manufacturers with information and an opportunity for input on:

  • the cultivation of cannabis for medicinal purposes
  • the manufacture of medicinal cannabis products
  • licensing requirements

These sessions will be particularly useful for those interested in becoming a licensed cultivator or manufacturer of medicinal cannabis products and will give attendees a chance to provide input to the ongoing development of the medicinal cannabis regulatory framework.

This follows on from recent amendments to the Narcotic Drugs Act 1967, enabling the domestic cultivation of cannabis for medicinal and related research purposes that will come into operation later in the year.
