Industry information and consultation sessions on medicinal cannabis - Adelaide and Brisbane - July 2017

The Office of Drug Control will be hosting two information and consultation sessions in July:

  • In Brisbane - focusing specifically on the domestic cultivation and manufacture of medicinal cannabis products
  • In Adelaide - two sessions looking at clinical issues and then domestic cultivation and manufacture of medicinal cannabis products

This information and consultation session aims to provide potential cultivators and manufacturers under the Narcotic Drugs Act 1967 with information on:

  • Regulation of cultivation, production and manufacture of cannabis for medicinal purposes
  • Compliance for licence holders - facility inspections and auditing
  • Quality requirements and standards

This session is targeted at those interested in becoming a licensed cultivator or manufacturer of medicinal cannabis products.

This information and consultation session aims to provide clinicians and health professionals with an overview of recent reviews of medical evidence and the ongoing development of clinical guidance documents.

In addition, this session will provide an update on current issues around patient access and then on South Australian developments in legislation, regulation, and clinical review processes.

Private discussions on cultivation and manufacture

Following the public discussion, there is an opportunity to meet with the Office of Drug Control privately to discuss existing licences or plans for licence applications under theNarcotic Drugs Act 1967. Note that the Office of Drug Control is unable to provide business advice and that these meetings are to facilitate the discussion of commercially confidential information licence holders or applicants may not wish to raise in the public meeting.

Note that only a limited number of such private meetings are available and that they are reserved for licence holders and licence applicants.
