Single licence model consultation: Closing date for submissions

Published

Submissions in response to the Office of Drug Control's (ODCs) Consultation on Single Licence Model close COB Monday 3 February 2020 (and on Tuesday 4 February 2020 for attendees at the Sydney forum on 3 February 2020 - see below). All stakeholders are encouraged to provide written feedback to MCS@health.gov.au on the consultation paper.

In addition to accepting written submissions for the current consultation, the ODC is conducting face to face consultation meetings to discuss the single licence model and other reforms to the licence application process. These reforms fall within stage 2 of the Government's reform process and will bring into effect Recommendation 7 from the Review of the Narcotic Drugs Act 1967 (the Review).

Consultation meetings on the single licence model will be held in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney on 30, 31 January and 3 February 2020 respectively. These consultation meetings will provide an opportunity for the ODC to explain, in more detail, the proposed reforms together with the opportunity for stakeholders to provide feedback on the proposed amendments as detailed in single licence consultation paper published on 13 December 2019.

Part of the meeting will be dedicated to the review of the cost recovery framework and attendees will be invited to provide feedback on the proposed costing model. A Cost Recovery consultation paper will be published after the meetings and a consultation period will be open to allow for formal written submissions by attendees and those who may not be able to attend.

These meetings are building on from the consultation meetings held in November 2019, as hosted by the ODC.
