An overview of the industry information and consultation sessions

Published

The Office of Drug Control (ODC) recently hosted a series of information and consultation sessions around the country regarding the cultivation and manufacture of medicinal cannabis products.

These sessions not only gave ODC an opportunity to share with you the progress that has been made since legislation was passed in February, but also provided attendees with an opportunity to ask questions, give suggestions and raise concerns.

Overall, the ODC presented to over 500 individuals interested in the cultivation, manufacture and research of medicinal cannabis products. The feedback gained from these sessions has provided ODC with information to help guide the drafting of regulations, which will be made available prior to 30 October 2016.

The PowerPoint presentation along with the collated questions and responses put forward at the information and consultation sessions have now been made available for download.

The Office of Drug control hopes to revisit a number of states in late September to present the final regulations and discuss the associated guidelines. Further information will be made available in the coming weeks.

We would like to thank all who attended and provided input into Australia’s medicinal cannabis framework.
